Would you buy a holiday from a non ABTA firm or a heating boiler from a none Corgi specialist, well alarms can be installed by anyone but not everyone is a ( www.nsi.org.uk ) NACOSS accredited company. We are happy to visit you and give free survey and full risk assessment on your security. Giving you advice and recommendations on what you need using the insurance guidelines and standards. Our advice is free and without any obligation. We will tailor make a system using various product manufactures equipment to suit you and your needs, we do not install kits.
Every one needs peace of mind and at the end of the day cost will play a big part in your decision. A cheap system could cost you a lot in repairs and neighbour annoyance and a pay monthly system could end up in costing a fortune over the years if you compare it to the cost of buying it outright. Look at the ongoing running cost of a system. All reputable companies will give you their ongoing charges in their quote.
Another choice is wired or wireless. A hard wired system may have cable runs but fitted by a good engineer they are not seen at all and can be buried over time. Hard wired system tend to be less trouble. Some times you can not run wires and so a wire free system may make sense. The down side is changing batteries and the higher cost.
OVERVIEW AND STANDARDS:
The new European Standards will group the premises with the system type according to risk. This will mean a premises in one location may differ from that of another. A fuller explanation of this standard is available EN 5013 .
Here is a small sample of the sort of system equipment we fit, please click on a tile to view the details.
The heart of any alarm system is the Control Panel. Basic panels start with 8 zones and can be tucked away with the only part the customer will see and that's the Keypad used to set and unset. (RKP). Most have a press one key only to set function, this saves pressing in your code every time. There are also now units that need only a key fob to unset them. The system is run off the mains supply and in the event of a power cut switches to standby battery. When the mains is restored the batteries will recharge automaticallyAll systems can be part set. This is used to isolate any area. For example in domestic premises the sleeping area needs to be turned off at night or in a Commercial Premises the Office area may need to be set from say the Factory.Other functions are ‘chime' for use as a door or area warning, ie a shop door.
Alarm Verification:
All systems now fitted will have alarm verification fitted as standard if the are monitored.

Sounders:
An alarm by its very nature scares the intruder off as its primary function. So a sounder inside the premises is an important part of the system. It also acts as a low warning to remind you to switch it off when you come in.

To give the external warning we use a Hi-tec Sounder that has its own standby battery included in case of an attack on the panel or the wiring.
Plus it has its own built in cut off timer so as the sound is shut off after a maximum of 15 mins. This is in addition to the systems timer so you always know you will stay within the local environmental requirements on noise pollution and keep the neighbours happy if there is a problem.
Comfort flashing led's let you know it is all charging ok. All the internal electronics are enclosed in an airtight compartment that is essential in our local environment but not fitted in many makes mainly due to cost.
Detectors and Sensors :
Doors
To know if your property is being violated we can detect entry by fitting door sensors that will activate the alarm if opened. There are contacts available for every type of door and most fit flush out of site. On Heavy doors and roller shutters we use a heavy duty contact that is physically strong enough to drive a Fork Lift over it.

Space Protection :
Space protection is by far the most popular form of detection used as it covers an entire area or whole room and forms what is known as trap protection. The most vulnerable areas can be easily covered and the sensors we use as standard are not set off by pets. A common form is the Passive Infrared sensor that detects the changes in temperature.

Passive Infra-Red Sensor
By adding an ultrasonic that is activated by movement to the same unit we get a Duel Technology Sensor. Both formats will need to be triggered to generate an alarm making it a more stable unit.

Dual Tec Sensors
Inertia Sensors :
Shock or vibration sensors can be used where there is a prospect of a forced entry and although they are not fool proof, they are not electronically more discerning than their predecessors.

Glass Break Sensors:
Glass is always going to be a weak point and for years the industry has tried to detect entry without false alarming from other natural sources. At one time we used foil that would crack along with the window but this is unsightly and time consuming. Next came sound detection but it also heard other sounds in the spectrum. So the answerer has been the dual sensor that hears the breaking glass but also detects the pressure wave given off within a time frame.

Smoke Systems
Working on the principal that if you can not see it, then you can not steal it. This system is triggered by the main alarm and fills the room up with a non toxic smoke in seconds. More info can be found at www.smokecloak.com
Panic Alarm Switch
These are live at all times and can generate a system alarm when pressed. We would normally fit a Panic Alarm Switch within the hallway or any central point that you may retreat to if threatened.
In commercial applications we have some covert buttons and foot operated devices.
